I’m a senior in journalism at the University of Kansas. I’m from Naperville, Ill. and quite fond of freedom of the press, and an advocate for student journalists’ rights.
I’m currently the Managing Editor of The University Daily Kansan. That means I manage daily production of the newspaper and supervise the news, special sections, entertainment, photo and design departments. In the summer of 2012, I was the Editor-in-Chief of the Kansan, managing a weekly newspaper coming out every Monday from June 4 to July 23. I also was the Editor-in-Chief of the Courier weekly student newspaper at the College of DuPage (Ill.) during the 2010-2011 academic year.
I’m heavily involved in the KU Cultural India Club designing flyers and coordinating advertising. I also help brainstorm ideas and plan for Indian cultural events for the club.
When I’m not focusing on my trade, I like to play ping pong, badminton, tennis, basketball and football with friends. I also love Madden video games. I have an odd fascination with listening to the police scanner late at night for odd arrests like fugitive bike tire slashers and elusive public drunkenness.
